Character History
(Past RP history, and character backstory)

OCTARIAN ARMY (age 0-14)They are raised communally, without a proper "mother" and "father", due to their parents' excommunication.-Raised by the Octarian Army.
Resents Inklings for having the Great Zapfish. They have been brought up to think that it is the Octarians' right to own the Great Zapfish.
Lives a lonely childhood, and knows something is "off" about them (As they are treated somewhat different due to their obvious Inkling traits. It is a hush-hush topic, so much of the judgement they receive is passive aggressive.)Aerian overcompensates and tries to be the best Octarian soldier they can be, through rigorous training. Properly becomes a fighting soldier at 13.

SPLATOON 1 (14-15)
Aerian, now a participating soldier in the war, witnesses compatriots killed by the Agent(s) in their attempt to get back the Great Zapfish.
-Octavio is defeated. Octarian society undergoes a collapse, as their large and small power sources (Great Zapfish and Mini Zapfishes) are stolen.Despite the effective dissolving of the army after the war, Aerian, dedicated to their cause as a soldier, decides to take matter into their own hands.
(IN-RP, 2016) Shots ring out in Inkopolis square, as Aerian has taken a splattershot to the city, and they're quickly apprehended (but not before shooting an officer (non-lethally)).
The arresting Agents strike a deal with Aerian after finding out their motive: Return power to Octo Valley. Aerian is released (with limitations) in order to work with the Agents, to find a source of power and help the remaining citizens of Octo Valley. (End of In-RP events). In the meantime, Aerian lurks around Inkopolis, and despite their denial of interest in Inkling society, they watch Turf War from afar, with envy at the participants' physical prowess. (They also use watching Turf War as an opportunity to "study the battle tactics of the Inklings", should they engage in war again, though they secretly have an appreciation for the sport.)As for their homeland: Many citizens of Octo Valley have fled to Octo Canyon, and there are very few who would benefit from restoring the power.Aerian loses hope of finding a source of power, and returning Octo Valley to its former glory. They feel themself growing complacent and "enabling the integration of Inkling and Octoling society" the more they hang out in Inkopolis, and they leave to make a life for themself in Octo Canyon.

SPLATOON 2 (age 16-17)Aerian is effectively homeless at this point, as they chose not to re-enlist in Octavio's army and thus have no barracks to call home (as they once did.)They've lost respect for Octavio and consider him a weak leader, though they have not lost their resentment for the Inklings.Without occupation or dwelling, Aerian takes a desperate job as a fashion model for a fellow ex-soldier, now aspiring-fashion-designer, Halieu Hiwende.
(Halieu pronounced Hawl-ee-yoo, Hiwende pronounced Hee-wend)

Halieu and Aerian butted heads at times, as Aerian was still resentful towards Inklings and traumitized from the war, but Halieu wanted to move on, make peace with the Inklings, and find his place in a merged Inkling-Octoling society.Aerian also investigates the "fashion trends" of Inklings and Octolings, at Halieu's insistence, to provide him with information to help his brand (with a secret, primary motive of exposing Aerian to Inkling society, and getting their depressed @ss out of his house every once in a while, lol.)After several years on the job, it seems as though Aerian is making progress in their (mental) recovery and is more sociable and tolerant of triggers. However... One day, an incident occurs....

JAIL ARC (18, 19, 20)
-In between the events of Splatoon 2 and 3.
Aerian is in jail after their violent mental-health crisis (see "Splatoon 2- Jail Arc Catalyst" button)Aerian remains in jail, and receives some of the mental health help they need. They meet a fellow Octarian, who is in for repeated petty crimes, and the two of them get along. This Octarian (named Nee) provides them with a much-needed "normal" friendship, and life in jail is.. surprisingly pleasant?Sure, some of the officers and fellow inmates are Inklings, but Aerian keeps their head down and keeps to themself for the most part, as they're unarmed and know that lashing out would do them no good at this point.Their empathy and tolerance towards Inklings (and others in general) grows with the more time they spend in prison (and as they reminisce on the people they once knew in Inkopolis- including but not limited to the kind Agents who had them arrested the first time, who had much empathy for them) and Aerian becomes a... tolerable member of society!

SPLATOON 3 (20+ (Present))Aerian, after their release from prison, once again leaves to a new place to have a clean slate on life. They keep in touch with Nee over the phone every once in a while, and hear about Nee's move to the Splatlands.Aerian moves between the Splatlands and Inkopolis, traveling often in search of work...And that's where we are, now...See @EradicatingInk for tweets about their current lease on life :)
